Checklist for successful employment and immigration to the EU

We give you these tips for guaranteed labor immigration to the EU. Study carefully and understand every step

Step 1. Submitting an application/CV

The form of this document must comply with EU standards and contain at least the minimum required information about you. You must understand that large enterprises receive hundreds and even thousands of applications from applicants daily and HR managers send the vast majority of applications (if not all) to the trash. Most often, they do not want to be responsible for selecting candidates. Employers prefer to use the services of licensed agencies such as Eurojob, which conducts preliminary or full screening of candidates and provides other related services to employers.
You should pay special attention to the preparation of your resume. Do everything so that it, at a minimum, gets considered and, at a maximum, interests recruiters. Having the right CV/application and presenting it correctly is very important and often makes the difference in getting hired by an EU company

Step 2. Interview

Every large employer has a candidate assessment system (scoring). What happens during the interview, your answers to questions, is an essential part of the candidate evaluation system. You need to be prepared for the interview. The main thing is not to remain silent. If there is any suspicion that you have a prompter etc, you lose.

Step 3. Appointment for an interview at the consulate. Collection of documents

Congratulations! An employer has chosen you and is ready to begin the procedure for your legal employment. The procedure for registration and package of documents depends on the country of your stay and the country of future employment. There are simple procedures with a minimum of documents, such as obtaining an annual national work visa to Slovakia for some countries. And there are procedures where you need to collect a whole bunch of various certificates, questionnaires, translations, etc.

Preparing documents for an interview is very important since in many cases it is very difficult to obtain an invitation date for an interview at the consulate and often you have to wait for long weeks, or even months. You cannot afford to be rejected because of a small mistake in the documents. Everything needs to be carefully double-checked: Completeness of documents, their expiration date (for example, police clearance certificates, etc.), translations (notarized, by accredited translators or not), apostilles, and much more. You need to double-check every page before submitting your documents to the consulate. Study this issue carefully.

Step 4. Submission of documents/interview at the consulate

Just be trim, sober, and friendly, and answer all questions clearly. You must at least know exactly where and why you are going. You must know the name of the country, the city you are traveling to, the name of the employer, your position, etc.

Step 5. Preparing for departure

When booking tickets, take into account and agree with the employer on the date and point of arrival. In most cases, you will need travel insurance. Sometimes, depending on the country of arrival, some other documents besides the visa. There are nuances when filling out some forms. For example, if you are not on a direct flight to the country of employment, but are entering the Schengen zone through an EU transit country, then you should indicate this country in addition to the final country in your application form. Otherwise, you will simply not be allowed in at the border control, and at a minimum, you will lose the time and money spent on the trip and you will have to come back and do it all again. Specify and re-check the list of documents for crossing the border and entering the Schengen zone. Make sure everything is formalized correctly.

Step 6. Arrival

Find out the hotline numbers of your country’s embassy in advance. Contact there in case of problems. Remember that, being legally in an EU country, you have all rights and are protected by EU law.
If you connect your future and the future of your family with Europe, then devote the first year to adaptation and learning the language. Try to make friends from the indigenous population and communicate with them in their language.

Frequently Asked Questions

What salary can I expect in the EU?

Promises of big salaries should make you wary. Double-check the real salaries of the country you are interested in using the Internet. All information is publicly available. You can expect a good salary and career advancement after your first year of work and by learning the local language.
But in the beginning, on average it will be 800-1500 euros. There are EU countries with higher salaries, but getting their visa is very difficult, especially without knowing the language. It should also be taken into account that in countries with high salaries there are also high living expenses.
Pay attention to the work schedule. Does it make sense to devote yourself completely to work for an extra 300 euros? After all, you can work comfortably 5 days a week for 8 hours with paid leave, etc and not deny yourself life: rest, travel, development, family, etc.
Start small. Later you will be able to work in any EU country and even in America. Make a decision right away: the first year for you is a period of adaptation and language learning.
Have no illusions. Don’t be deceived. Double-check all information.
Immigration is more of a marathon than a sprint.

How to avoid getting caught by scammers?

ATTENTION! Do not believe the numerous dishonest entrepreneurs and scammers who tell you that a work, national or tourist visa in the Schengen zone opens up any broad opportunities for you for emigration, citizenship, moving to the USA, etc.
This is not a “ticket to heaven.” Don’t believe inflated promises of your capabilities and the high salaries that you supposedly will receive. Check everything as we advised above.
A work visa of any EU country only gives the right to work in the territory of that country and travel as a tourist to other countries of the Schengen zone and some countries outside it.
If you really want to connect your future and the future of your children in the EU, and get more opportunities and freedoms, we advise you to legally work out your contract for at least a year, while simultaneously studying the language and culture of the country.
Be patient. After a year, the employer will be happy to extend your contract and help you obtain a residence permit if you are a good employee. You will be able to obtain a residence permit for family members for family reunification. Usually, after a year, employers increase your salary, especially if you have mastered the language.
You can change employer later. You can obtain a residence permit from another EU country. You and your family can receive permanent residence and even citizenship after some time.
All possibilities and the whole world will be open to you.
Acting within the law, legally, is a reliable, win-win option. Be patient and move confidently towards your dream.

Someone introduces himself as your employee or partner. How to check?

Contacts, instructions, etc. from other emails, phone numbers, groups, and communities that have nothing to do with us.
Be careful!
You can report cases of fraudsters acting on our behalf to: fake@eurojob.world

What do I risk by staying in the EU illegally?

If you used the visa for other purposes: Entered the EU, but did not arrive at the employer, or left without fulfilling the contract and remained in the EU, you have broken the law and are subject to deportation.
You also face a ban on entry into the EU, the issuance of new visas for a long period, and sometimes forever.
Don’t chase illusory promises of higher salaries as an illegal immigrant or a heavenly life as an illegal immigrant in the USA, etc.
Working legally, you are protected socially, and physically, and have all the necessary social services, security, medical insurance, the right to educate your children, you have the right to a pension in the EU, etc.
Remember – being an illegal immigrant, you are not only a violator, you are not protected by any laws and are putting your health and life in danger!

Is it true that I can get a home on credit and pay less than renting a similar home?

Yes. There are such possibilities. For legally working foreigners, some EU countries offer interesting terms for housing loans, which are sometimes even cheaper than the rental price of similar housing!
You must have a residence permit card and some work experience with one employer.
If you came under a national visa program that is valid for 1 year and ties you to one specific employer, be sure to use all our advice and you are guaranteed to receive a residence permit in a year. You will have more opportunities and freedoms.
So, again, the main thing: is immigration is a marathon and not a sprint. Follow the rules, don’t waste time – learn the language, adapt. You will not be disappointed in life with safety, comfort, well-being, and confidence.
